Love how easy it is to chat to my parents now and finding that we’re doing it more! I waited until I was visiting to set up Call Genie and I’m glad I did as the set up for myself took a fair amount of concentration so for them probably wouldn’t have worked. This was mainly because the model of mini computer was slightly different so the diagrams etc didn’t quite match but I got there. The set up call was great and Rob was really friendly and patient and helpful. We’ve had one incident in which it didn’t automatically connect and a quick power off at the wall did the trick. This is a great way to communicate with relatives who aren’t as tech savvy and so much better than them both trying to squeeze in front of a laptop camera.
The Genie has been a game changer for communicating with my mother who has dementia and aphasia. The support we got was exceptional and now the system works amazing. Being able to see my mother despite her poor communication skills, the smile on her face is priceless she talks about the family popping in to see her. I can’t thank everyone enough

Very good kit & set up instructions & support. Important that connections between components and position of camera and Flirc USB IR Receiver are regularly checked, especially after someone's dusted! Patience is needed by both parties when a call is opened and closed for TV to respond and image to appear and then go back to programme/ switch off
Purchased for my elderly mother who doesn't use computers. So useful that the call just pops up on her TV and then returns to the programme she was watching when I hang up. The grandchildren have used it to keep in touch too, especially over the Christmas period. I used the booking system for the install to receive IT help for setting up which was very helpful and very worthwhile. The only issue I've encountered is the clarity of the picture but that may well have something to do with the strength of the Wi-Fi signal rather than the device. Highly recommended.
